Southampton Made A £21 Million Loss On Gaston

The midfielder scored his first league goal in a 2-1 defeat by Everton on 29 December 2013. On 23 January 2014, Gaston suffered from ankle ligament damage and along with Dejan Lovren, he couldn’t feature in any games for six to eight weeks. He came back from recovery on 22 February 2014, as a substitute in a 3-1 defeat by West Ham United. Due to the fact that he didn’t feature a lot in the first-team games, Gaston was thinking about leaving the club, however, newly appointed manager Ronald Koeman showed interest in him and decided to use him in the first team games.
