Wayne Rooney becomes the new coach of Birmingham City
Birmingham City appoint Wayne Rooney as manager.

Said Rooney.
“We are fully aligned on what is expected. I have been building my managerial career, putting myself in challenging environments, to get me ready for this opportunity. It’s a project that gives me a sense of purpose and I can’t wait to get started."
Rooney was announced as the new head coach of DC United in the summer of 2022. He parted ways with the team in October 2023.
Birmingham City are trying to advance to the Premier League and currently placed sixth in the Championship.
