Inter Miami announce the signing of Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi is officially an Inter Miami player.
The free transfer of Lionel Messi to Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, has been formally confirmed. Messi had left
Paris Saint-Germainafter the expiration of his contract, following two seasons of playing for the team.
Messi stated this after signing with Inter Miami:
"I'm very excited to start this next step in my career with Inter Miami and in the United States,"
he said.
"This is a fantastic opportunity and together we will continue to build this beautiful project.
“The idea is to work together to achieve the objectives we set, and I'm very eager to start helping here in my new home."
Inter Miami will soon sign a contract with Sergio Busquets as well. They are also in pursuit of signing a contract with Jordi Alba.
It is expected that Messi will play his first game for Inter Miami on Friday in a match against Cruz Azul.
