David Trezeguet: "France never appreciated talent"

Messi has parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain after two seasons.

Lionel Messi, who joined

Paris Saint-Germain

after leaving Barcelona, didn't have a good experience with the team and didn't establish a strong connection with Paris Saint-Germain fans.

David Trezeguet, former striker of the French national team, expressed support for Messi in an interview with ESPN Argentina.

"France never appreciated talent and, therefore, the country never understood Messi. His arrival in Ligue 1 was an opportunity to make a less attractive championship more attractive than the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and I would even say the Bundesliga. However, France has never appreciated Messi’s talent. A player who changes hierarchies at all levels in football, guaranteeing you a comeback in terms of image and prestige as few others can."

he said.

Messi scored 32 goals in 75 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain in his two seasons with the club. He won the Ligue 1 title twice with Paris Saint-Germain.

Lionel Messi will soon be introduced as Inter Miami new player.
