Ronaldo is unlikely to join Sporting Kansas City

Kansas City coach says Ronaldo will not join them.

Sporting Kansas City

coach says it's not unlikely for this team to try again to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

After Ronaldo's departure from Manchester United, Sporting Kansas City tried to sign him, but in the end, the Portuguese player joined Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

In response to the question of whether they will try again to sign Ronaldo, Peter Vermes said:

“No, he’s wrapped up for two years on a significant amount of money. I think the transfer fee would be a little out of our range,”

Vermes said.

Vermes also discussed Lionel Messi's contract with Miami, which was signed last week.

“Messi’s the best player in the world, so to be able to have the best player in the world playing in the league that you’re involved in, that’s tremendous. It’s a huge opportunity for our league, it’s great in so many ways and from the fans’ perspective too. It’s like watching Michael Jordan play basketball – he’s from another planet that guy, when he plays.”

Sporting Kansas City will play against Austin in their next game.
