"I want to show the world what i'm capable of", says Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun

Arsenal loanee Folarin Balogun says he wants to keep showing the world his talent in Ligue 1.

Balogun

who has joined the French side

Reims

on a loan deal, has scored 15 goals in Ligue 1 this season.

The 21-year-old striker joined

Arsenal’s

academy in 2008 and made his senior debut in the Europa League on 29 October 2020. He joined Middlesbrough on a loan deal until the end of the season in January 2022 and joined Reims last summer.

In an interview with Canal +, Balogun was asked how it feels to be the best striker in Ligue 1 alongside Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David.

Balogun said:

"For me it's a special, special season. But it's not a surprise because I have a lot of belief in myself. I'll appreciate this spell when I look back over it but right now I'm very, very happy.

“I know the level I'm capable of and I like to prove that. The numbers I've been putting up might surprise people, but for me it's not. I've always been one of the top scorers. It's just a case of showing people around the world what I'm capable of.”

Arsenal signed Gabriel Jesus last summer, and Eddie Nketiah also has been impressive for the Gunners. It remains to be seen whether Balogun will return to Arsenal or they consider to sell him.

Reims will face Monaco on Sunday. They are in ninth place in the table.
