Danilo extends Juventus contract until 2025

Brazilian defender Danilo has signed a new contract with the Italian club Juventus.

confirmed on Thursday that

Danilo

has extended his contract until 2025.

A statement on the club website reads:

“Since his arrival at Juventus in August 2019, his attachment to our colours was immediate. He has become a point of reference and as of today his bond with our shirt becomes even stronger.”

The 31-year-old Danilo joined Juventus from Manchester City in 2019 in a part-exchange deal involving Joao Cancelo. The Brazilian defender has played in 142 matches across all competitions, including 102 games in Serie A for Juventus.

The fullback, who was part of the Brazil squad in the 2022 World Cup, has scored three goals in 33 matches this season. He recently scored for Juventus in Tuesday’s 4-2 win against Torino.

Danilo, who played for two years between 2015 and 2017 for

Real Madrid

, has won three trophies with Juventus including one Serie A title in 2020. He also won five trophies with Man City, including two Premier League titles.

Juventus is in seventh place in the table, ten points behind fourth-placed team Lazio. They will face Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
