Giroud isn’t done playing for Les Bleus, claiming 'It's not over!'

France’s all-time leading goalscorer Olivier Giroud isn’t ready to say goodbye to international duty.

AC Milan striker

Olivier Giroud

, who became France’s all-time leading goalscorer by breaking Thierry Henry’s record, says he is not done playing for

Les Bleus

.

The 36-year-old was considering retiring from international duty following the retirement of the likes of Hugo Lloris but has now decided against it.

Speaking to channel France 2, Giroud said:

"No, no, it's not over. Emotions, I hope there will still be some to come.

"I'm not ready to hang up [my boots], to take off this blue jersey which is close to my heart.

"I have the motivation to continue and the physique too, I feel good. For the moment I am still selectable and a player of the France team "

Giroud managed to score 4 goals in the 2022 World Cup, surpassing Thierry Henry’s record of 51 goals for France.

France will next be in action when they begin their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign against the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland in March.
