Arsenal's Zinchenko compares Mikel Arteta to Guardiola
Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has compared Mikel Arteta to his former manager Pep Guardiola.
who played 5 years under Pep Guardiola and managed to win four Premier League titles with Manchester City believes there are a lot of similarities between the Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta and Guardiola.
Arsenal's manager worked as Guardiola's assistant for three years until 2019.
Zinchenko told VBET News:
“I have known Mikel since City, and I always knew that he is an amazing manager. There are a lot of similarities between Arteta and [Pep] Guardiola, but obviously, everyone is a bit different, and still, there is some difference between them as well. But the similarity is that both of them want to win every single game, and that’s the most important thing.”
The 26-year-old Zinchenko left
Manchester Cityafter 6 years and joined Arsenal last summer for a reported fee of £30 million. He has played in 17 matches for the Gunners and won the player of the month award in January.
Zinchenko also praised Jorginho who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January.
“He is an amazing player, big personality. Huge experience as well. He is a winner, he knows how to win. And for sure he’s going to help us a lot.”
Arsenal lost against Everton last week, but still is five points clear of Manchester City with a game in hand. Arteta’s side will face Brentford on Saturday, and then they play with Manchester City at home on Wednesday.
