Former Chelsea manager Tuchel interested in Tottenham job if Conte leaves
Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel would be interested in the Tottenham job if Antonio Conte leaves the club.
According to the English press, Thomas Tuchel is open to becoming
Tottenham’smanager if Antonio Conte leaves the club in the coming months.
Evening Standard claims that Tuchel is ready to get back into management and would consider Tottenham’s offer, despite managing their London rivals Chelsea. The 49-year-old Tuchel is out of work after being sacked by
Chelseain September. The former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League title with Chelsea in 2021.
Conte's future is in doubt after Sunday's North London derby defeat to
Arsenal. Tottenham has lost three of their last six league games. They are five points off the Champions League places after 18 matches. Conte’s side is 14 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Spurs appointed Conte as their new manager in November 2021 on a deal running until the end of the current season. They have the option to extend his contract by a further year but the Italian coach has refused to commit to Spurs beyond the end of the season.
Four former Chelsea managers including Glenn Hoddle, Andre Villas-Boas, Jose Mourinho, and Conte also managed Tottenham in the Premier League.
Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is also interested in returning to his former club if Conte decides to leave. Pochettino is out of work after leaving Paris Saint-Germain last July.
