Inzaghi admires Inter’s attitude of ‘win at all costs’ which handed Napoli their first loss of the season
Inazghi’s “organized” Inter shattered Napoli’s invincibility as they tasted defeat for the first time this season.
As
Inter Milanbeat Serie A frontrunners, Napoli, handing Partenopei their first defeat of the season, Inter boss Simeone Inzaghi hailed his team’s mentality of “win at all costs”.
The defeat to Inter brought an end to Napoli’s 11 consecutive wins in Serie A. Now there is only 8 points separating the first-placed Napoli and fourth-placed Inter with Milan edging closer to Napoli as well.
Despite conceding the possession to Napoli for the majority of the game, Inzaghi’s men were almost perfect in defending in unison, nullifying Napoli’s attack. Inzaghi’s men were awarded for their effective attacking plans as Edin Dzeko scored on the 56th minute with a goal that would prove to be the winner.
Simone Inzaghi was singing his squad praises after the match, pointing out to their mentality as the key factor in the important 1-0 win over
Napoli.
"Inter were organised and wanted to win at all costs,"
Inzaghi told reporters.
"I have to congratulate the guys on the pitch, they helped each other with haste and determination.
"Tonight, I bring the happiness of the victory to dedicate to the fans."
Inzaghi expressed his happiness with his attacking options, telling DAZN:
"There are four, my wish is to have them all available. I have some intelligent boys. Playing every three days, I will have the opportunity to change it."
He added:
"We must continue like this. Tonight is a great injection of confidence.
"I'm proud of my boys, it's a pleasure to see them like this. We had a great match but we have to continue like this.
"In the league we lost points initially, but it's still a long way [to go]. We have to think match-by-match."
