The Telegraph reported on Monday night that Liverpool is ready to sign Nunes for £44m but Sky Sports claims that Wolves wants at least £50m for him.

The 24-year-old midfielder was linked with Manchester City but eventually joined Wolves from Sporting in a deal worth £38 million last summer. The Portugal international who was in their final 26-man squad for the 2022 World Cup has played in 16 matches for Wolves this season.

Liverpool wants to strengthen in midfield and Jude Bellingham has been their number-one target since the summer but it appears they have been priced out of a move for the Englishman. Dortmund wants a figure of around €150 million for the 19-year-old midfielder who also has been linked with Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Brighton and Hove Albion central midfielder, Moises Caicedo, is also on Liverpool‘s radar but he could cost between £60-70m. They have also been linked with Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez, however, he is reportedly very close to joining Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's side recently signed the 23-year-old forward Cody Gakpo in a deal worth an initial €40m.
