Inter offers a new contract to Man City target Alessandro Bastoni

Long being monitored by Premier League duo Manchester City and Tottenham, the Italy international's current contract with Inter is due to expire in 2024. However, the Serie A giants have offered him a contract renewal.

Joining

Inter

from Atalanta for a reported €31m fee in 2017,

Alessandro Bastoni

was a cornerstone for Inter's defensive line making 100 appearances for the Nerazzurri. Winning a Scudetto and a Coppa Italia with Inter, the 23-year-old centre-back has long been sought by Man City and the Spurs. However, being an Inter fan, Bastoni refused to even listen to offers last summer.

Now according to

La Gazzetta Dello Sport,

Inter has offered the player a new contract worth €4.5m-a-year which ties him until 2027. The club reportedly offered the contract during their meeting with the player’s agents, Tullio Tinti, Paolo Castellini, and Manuel Montipò.

Achieving 17 caps for Italy, Bastoni was also a member of the Roberto Mancini side that won the UEFA European Championship in 2020 and helped them achieve a third-place finish in 2021's UEFA Nations League.
