France is optimistic about Upamecano and Rabiot cold for Morocco clash

France will face Morocco in the semi-finals of Qatar 2022 on Wednesday as they tend to defend their way to the final to defend their trophy against Argentina. Les Blues are optimistic to have Upamecano and Rabiot available for the game.

After beating England on Saturday 2-1 to secure their place in the semi-finals of the tournament,

the reigning World Cup champions

will be the tournament's giant killers, Morocco on Wednesday. However, Didier Deschamps is concerned about the availability of Dayot Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot after the due caught a cold and missed last night's training sessions.

Despite that,

Upamecano

has reportedly taken breakfast with his teammates as

L'Equipe

reports that France staff are optimistic over their involvement. In the worst-case scenario, Ibrahima Konaté and Youssouf Fofana will replace the duo in France's starting line-up.

After becoming the first African side to reach a World Cup semi-final, the Atlas Lions will fight to become the first African side to reach the finals as well. Meanwhile, after losing to Tunisia in the group match, no team has ever lost against two different African sides in the same World Cup before as Morocco tries to submit France to another record.
