Pochettino deems Kane and Mbappe "completely compatible" as partners

, former Tottenham and PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has given his thoughts on both teams’ talismans, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, claiming that the two would be “amazing” if they ever were to play besides each other.

Having coached both players, Pochettino claims that Kane and Mbappe "

genuinely love the game"

which is a rare thing in his experience.

"They love to talk about football, they love to talk about tactics, they have brains that really understand football. And this is why I think it would be so good to see them playing together. They would be completely compatible,"

Pochettino added.

"Maybe it will never happen; when I was at PSG, I knew Tottenham would never want to sell Harry."

The Argentine tactician went on to credit Harry Kane with saving his career in November 2014 when he scored a free-kick goal against Aston Villa to win the game for Spurs. He then revealed how he and his team helped Kane becoming a better player by telling him "to run", which helped him to press, and to move into different areas, using different spaces on the pitch.

"So he was a player who could play in the box or outside it, because his capacity to understand the game is amazing. He senses what the team needs, and when it’s under pressure he can drop into midfield, to help the team to progress the ball up the pitch or to provide assists.

"And if Harry drops into those positions in the 

 quarter-final on Saturday, it will be difficult for France to stop."

He then moved on to discussing Mbappe’s personality and his potential by saying that it is "impossible not to" have a big ego when such a young player is valued so highly but he assures that Mbappe is

"arrogant in the right, in the best way".
