'Vincenzo [Grifo] is extraordinary' – Mancini

The Italy manager Roberto Mancini praised Vincenzo Grifo after the winger’s great performance that led to a comeback win for Italy over Albania

Italy managed to come back from 1-0 down to make it 3-1 against Albania, thanks to a brace and an assist from Freiburg winger Vincenzo Grifo. Roberto Mancini was delighted with Grifo’s performance following what was Italy’s 3rd consecutive win.

"Vincenzo is an extraordinary boy. Grifo is a great player and in the Bundesliga, he is scoring many goals.

"[He is] a very good player, with important qualities. Today he scored two beautiful goals. The whole attack went well.

"You have to play in the best way whatever the moment. We have done good things by also changing the system, that went well."

The 29 year old Vincenzo Grifo has been sporadically called up to Italy and the winger has managed to score 4 goals for Italy both of which has been braces, one against Estonia in 2020 and the other last night against Albania.

However,

Milan

fans may not have been happy following the match since their star Sandro Tonali had to be taken off a stretcher after a hard fall.

"He took quite a hit, but he was conscious and I hope to get him back soon."

Said hopeful Mancini.
