Axel Disasi replaces the injured Kimpembe in France's World Cup squad

Although the PSG defender played the final 15 minutes of PSG's 5-1 victory over Auxerre, Deschamps kills his World Cup dreams by not including him in their 26-man squad for the World Cup with Monaco’s Disasi replacing him.

After

Paris Saint-Germain

's victories over Juventus and Lorient,

Presnel Kimpembe

made his injury return in the final 15 minutes of his side's 5-0 victory over Auxerre on Sunday.

However, through an announcement on Monday, the

French Football Federation

stated the defender

"does not consider himself sufficiently recovered"

as their head coach opted to include uncapped

Axel Disasi

instead of the 2018 World Cup winner.

Making 23 appearances for

Monaco

this season, the centre-back will make his international debut in Qatar World Cup. Borussia Monchengladbach striker

Marcus Thuram

has also been included in France's 26-man squad after the French striker scored 13 goals and provided 4 assists in 17 appearances this season.

The reigning World Cup champions are drawn in Group D of Qatar World Cup with Australia, Denmark, and Tunisia as they attempt to become the third team in history to win back-to-back World Cups.
