No player like me in modern football - Figo
The Portuguese star praised several Real Madrid and Barcelona youngsters.
Luis Figo believes that there is no player like him in today's world of football.
The winner of the first Ballon d'Or of the 21st century is considered one of the best players in the history of football in his position. He shone for many years in the Barcelona shirt and wore the team's armband, however, he decided to leave the team and join Real Madrid, and the transfer made him become a hated player among Barcelona fans.
Figo talked about the players whose style of play he likes, but claimed that there is no player in the world like him.
He said:
“I look at the players who play in my position, and I like to see Kingsley Coman, [Ousmane] Dembélé, Ansu Fati, Rodrygo… I think they are very top players and I enjoy watching them play.
“I don’t think there is a player now with a style similar to mine, because my game was different.”
Asked about recent El Clasico, Figo replied:
“Madrid was better and deserved to win.
“Barcelona did not feel comfortable in the first half, that’s why they were down on the scoreboard, and in the second half it was much more difficult to change the course of the match. In general, I think Madrid was better and that’s why they won the game.”
