Graham Potter can't wait for his Chelsea league debut against Palace

The former Brighton boss had to wait 28 days for his Chelsea Premier League debut after being appointed as Tuchel's replacement. Potter expresses his side's passion for their Saturday league clash.

Thomas Tuchel

was dismissed following a 1-0 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb in the Blues’ Champions League opener and shortly after was replaced by renowned Brighton boss

Graham Potter

.

However, following two postponements for the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the international break, the English coach had to wait 28 days to have his first taste of the Premier League as the new

Chelsea

manager.

Ahead of Chelsea's Saturday clash against

Crystal Palace

, Potter told his press conference:

"We used a bit of time to get to know people, but at the same time we're itching to play.

"We couldn't control anything in terms of how things have panned out, we've had to make the most of it.

"I'm sure it will be a nice one. It's a proper football stadium. The boys are ready and waiting to play.

"You've got to start somewhere and there are a lot of games to come. The group are looking forward to playing."

While the star-stuffed Chelsea has gained 10 points in their 6 opening matches, Potter's

Brighton

has gathered 13 points as the Chelsea ownership found the English coach as the best replacement.
