Pulisic eager for “fresh start” under Graham at Chelsea

The American international revealed that he is eager to perform under the reign of the new manager after the last international break and before the 2022 World Cup.

Christian Pulisic

performed for his national team this week when they were held to a goalless draw by

Saudi Arabia

in the last friendly before the World Cup. He played for 76 minutes for the UMSNT, which is half the minutes he has featured for his Premier League side this season as Thomas Tuchel, the ex-

Chelsea

boss, only handed him one start.

When he was talking to ESPN before his return to the Blues, the American international admitted how “excited” he is to have a fresh start with Graham Potter as their new manager.

“It’s good to get some minutes in and I feel healthy [and] I’m feeling good going back [to Chelsea], honestly,"

he said.

"I have a fresh start now, and I’m excited to play for the new manager.

“So really just looking forward to it. I just have to prove myself, as everyone does, and as I’ve done before.”

Recently, Pulisic has been regarded as a peripheral figure at the club, being in the starting XI only 13 times last season in the Premier League. He was struggling for game time under the reign of the German tactician as well. He is now keen on making an impact under Potter, who penned a five-year contract with the Blues after departing Brighton & Hove Albion this summer.
