Bayern director denied Harry Kane rumor

The England captain was close to leave London in summer.

Bayern Munich

sporting director Hasan Salihmidzic has completely dismissed rumors of

Harry Kane

joining the Bundesliga side.

The Bundesliga champions were looking to sign a new striker following the departure of

Robert Lewandowski

and were said to be in need of a No.9. There have been rumors of the England captain joining the club in 2023, but despite Kane entering the final year of his contract, the Bayern director has ruled out his presence in the Bundesliga.

Salihamidzic said:

“I haven't spoken to anyone at Harry Kane's camp.

“We have faith in our players. Serge [Gnabry], Sadio [Mane], [Eric Maxim] Choupu-Moting and also [Mathys] Tel. These are guys who should grow into it. We have eight players for four positions. In the end you have to see what the market has to offer and we didn't find anyone is better than what was already in our squad.”

Salihamidzic believes that Tel has the potential to become one of the best striker in the world. He added:

“He's 17, but he has qualities that not many in the world have. He has the potential to be great. He's the best talent in Europe at this position.”
