Aubameyang joins Chelsea on a two year contract

The former Dortmund star had the opportunity to work with Thomas Tuchel again.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

has joined

Chelsea

from

Barcelona

on a two-year contract with an option to extend for one year.

After leaving Arsenal in the last days of last year's winter market and terminating his contract with the club, Aubameyang agreed with Barcelona to move to La Liga. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became the club's top scorer of the season in just half a season and showed a very good performance such as scoring in a 4-0 win at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid. But the recruitment of players such as Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha made this experienced striker not have a place in the Barcelona lineup in the new season, and for this reason, Aubameyang decided to leave this club and move to Chelsea.

The London Blues paid 12 million euros for his purchase, and his two-year contract has the option of being extended for another season.

Chelsea needed a new striker after the departure of players like Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku, and now Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can be part of Thomas Tuchel's team starting this week. Also, Aubameyang will inherit Lukaku's number 9 shirt.

In the contract of Aubameyang's transfer to Chelsea, there is a clause for the transfer of Marcos Alonso to Barcelona, and this transfer is expected to be finalized soon.
