Barcelona terminates Martin Braithwaite contract

The Danish striker will soon join Espanyol.

Barcelona

reached an agreement to terminate the contract of Danish striker

Martin Braithwaite

and he is close to sign for Espanyol.

Braithwaite was among the players who were announced at the beginning of the summer that they have no place in Xavi's plans for the 2022-23 season and should leave this club as soon as possible.

However, the Danish player decided to continue his presence at this club and has emphasized that he is not ready to leave Barca if Memphis Depay and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave because he believes that he should be given enough time to prove his abilities.

During this period, several Spanish clubs made offers to recruit him, all of which were rejected by him. This made the managers of Barca very upset and angry with his behavior.

They started negotiations to terminate this player's contract a few days ago, and finally, it became clear that these negotiations have come to an end, and soon Braithwaite's contract with Barca will be officially terminated.

The 31-year-old player had a contract with Barca until June 2024. He joined Barca from Leganes in February 2020 in a deal worth 18 million euros, and since then he has only played 58 games for the team. He has also recorded 10 goals and five assists.
