Newcastle’s Saint-Maximin not always understood - Willock

Joe Willock has hailed his “misunderstood” teammate Allan Saint-Maximin, when the Frenchman met the back of the net against Wolves.

Allan Saint-Maximin

got a point for

Newcastle

on their clash against

Wolves

on Sunday as he scored a goal.

"He's a character. A player that is not always understood by everyone but is undoubtedly talented,"

Joe Willock said on Newcastle TV.

"The things he can do on the ball, no one else could do. He just takes you by surprise and at the weekend loads of people were really surprised that he could take it out the air and put it in the bottom corner. That's just Allan. He's a really talented player and a lovely guy."

Saint-Maximin had attracted the attention of many clubs for a move away from St. James’ Park this summer, but he has returned to his best recently. His goal against Manchester City last weekend was also so impressive. Although he has faced some criticism, he is one of the greatest players for the Magpies.

Newcastle will go against Liverpool next after the Reds enjoyed their thumping 9-0 win over Bournemouth.
