Chelsea finally allows Marcos Alonso to join Barcelona
The Catalan club acquired Andreas Christensen from Chelsea on a free transfer this summer and is long interested in bringing the Spaniard to Nou Camp this summer with the player pushing for a move, and it seems finally all parties could reach an agreement.
According to
Sport, after weeks of negotiations,
Barcelonahas signed Marcos Alonso as Chelsea was postponing the transfer to the arrival of Marc Cuccurela, who joined Chelsea yesterday on an eye-catching €60m deal. Personal terms have been agreed upon for some time and Alonso would undergo medicals this week as the transfer is nearly done.
Upon his arrival from Fiorentina,
Marcos Alonsohas been a cult hit at Chelsea but he fell down the pecking order with the arrival of Ben Chilwell last summer, and he has no place in Tuchel’s plans with the marquee signing of Marc Cucurella.
Making 476 appearances for
the Blues, Azplilicueta’s contract is due to expire next summer, and the player himself is adamant to have a new experience. The club doesn’t want to lose their captain on a free transfer next summer as they want to get back a part of the €8 million they paid Marseille in 2012 to sign the player.
Thomas Tuchel
earlier criticized Barcelona's pursuit of the Spanish duo. However, the German coach will reportedly grant the Spaniard his wish once his replacement arrives.
