Chelsea and Man Utd linked Clauss joins Marseille

Jonathan Clauss had attracted a lot of attention following an impressive season with Lens and decided to make a move to Marseille.

Marseille

have pronounced the signing of

Jonathan Clauss

who attracted the attention of Premier League clubs such as

Chelsea

and

Manchester United

.

The Ligue 1 side, who brought in Igor Tudor as their new head coach this month, said that Clauss had penned a three-year contract on Wednesday.

The right-back had his debut for France in the friendly victory over Ivory Coast in March under the reign of Didier Deschamps and has played for them four times so far.

Lens ended their season sitting seventh, with Clause meeting the target five times and contributing 11 assists in 37 matches.

Marseille are reported to have paid just €8million for the wing-back, who is keen on playing for France in their World Cup campaign.

Marseille also confirmed the signing of shot-stopper Ruben Blanco on a loan contract from Celta Vigo.
