Romagnoli makes a move to Lazio after leaving Milan
Alessio Romagnoli made a move to Lazio as a free agent after departing Serie A champions Milan.
The defender left the Rossoneri after his deal expired at the end of the previous season, having been Milan’s captain in their triumph in
Serie A.
Romagnoli, who has long been supporting Lazio notwithstanding having played for their rivals Roma in his youth, has signed a five-year contract with Lazio.
The 27-year-old in the club’s fifth signing this summer with the other four being after Marcos Antonio, Mattia Zacagni, Matteo Cancellieri and Nicolo Casale.
The Italian is going to bring a lot of experience to Lazio’s defence, with the club aiming to strengthen their team and improve their fifth-place finish in the table.
Romagnoli featured in 246 games with Milan after making a move to the club from Roma in 215, meeting the target 10 times.
The centre-back became the captain of the team when Leonardo Bonucci went back to Juventus in 2019. However, he only played in 19 games last season and departed the club this summer.
