Alessio Romagnoli has agreed to make a move to Lazio as a free agent, picking his boyhood team instead of Fulham, who were eager to sign his services.

departed

Milan

when his contract expired at the beginning of this month, putting an end to his seven-year spell at the Rossoneri. He was on the verge of making a move to the Biancocelesti until

Fulham

emerged as a rival, willing to pay €4m net per season to acquire his services.

Based on reports from

Gianluca Di Marzio

, the 27-year-old has chosen to pen a five-year deal with

Lazio

, going back to his native city after seven years. He will receive €3m net per season plus add-ons, and there are also bonuses linked to the Serie A title and European qualification.

They are now negotiating over the final details before completing the contract. He is due to have his pre-transfer medicals in the following days.
