Cucho Hernandez a massive signing for MLS - Colombus Crew boss

The Colombian star left England to continue his football in MLS.

Columbus Crew

head coach Caleb Porter believes that Cucho Hernandez will be a great signing for the club.

After

Watford

's relegation to the Championship, Hernandez decided to leave Europe and headed to the United States to continue his football career in the MLS. Although the transfer of

Gareth Bale

and Giorgio Chiellini to Los Angeles FC has attracted a lot of attention, Porter believes that Hernandez's arrival in America is a big deal.

"It’s a massive signing for our club,"

Porter said.

"When you look at his profile, the age, his recent form, it’s a massive signing for the league as well - to get a young South American, 23 years old, who has proven himself in two of the top leagues in the world.

"We feel like he’s just beginning in terms of his career as well. He’s in his prime and he’ll have the best years of his career here."

The Colombian striker joined Watford in 2017 and spent three seasons on loan at Huesca, Mallorca and Getafe. He spent last season at Watford and scored 5 goals in 25 games for the team.
