Juventus prefer Pulisic over Werner in Matthijs De Ligt talks

Juventus has told Chelsea that they are willing to talk about trading Christian Pulisic for center back Matthijs de Ligt.

Todd Boehly, the new owner of the Blues, is willing to let

Thomas Tuchel

change up the team this summer, and now

Matthijs De Ligt

has become their top defensive target. The Dutchman and Juventus haven't been able to agree on the terms of a contract extension, and it is thought that he is interested in talking to

Chelsea

.

Juventus doesn't want to lose De Ligt, but they know that a sale that brings in a lot of money might be too good to pass up. A price of €100 million has been mentioned, and while Chelsea has not yet met that amount, Boehly has told

90min

that he is willing to increase his offer.

Boehly has offered Juve a number of players to try to sweeten the deal. At first, Juve only wanted cash, but sources have told 90min that Bianconeri would be interested in getting Pulisic in exchange.

Chelsea is willing to sell Pulisic this summer, and they have said that

Timo Werner

is also up for discussion. Both are interesting to Juve, but Pulisic is thought to be their top choice.

Juventus has said that they are open to a swap deal, and a bid from Chelsea is expected in the next few days. The Blues are now quietly confident that they will be able to make a deal.

The people in charge at the Allianz Stadium are already looking for a replacement for De Ligt. On their list of possible targets are Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, Gleison Bremer of Torino, and Presnel Kimpembe of PSG.

This group of three central defenders has also been linked to Chelsea, which wants to add at least two new defenders this summer. Talks are going on with Manchester City about Nathan Ake, who can leave the Premier League champions this summer. There is also still interest in Sevilla's Jules Kounde.

Sources have even said that Chelsea could try to get three new center-backs this summer. They want to fix a back line that has lost Andreas Christensen,

Antonio Rudiger

, and Kurt Zouma in the last year, and Cesar Azpilicueta, who Barcelona wants, could leave before the transfer window is over.
