How much it cost Paris Saint-Germain to sack Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino is on the verge of being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the French press,

Paris Saint-Germain

decided several weeks ago to sack Mauricio Pochettino after just one year and now must spend almost €15 million on compensation for Mauricio Pochettino and some of his coaching staff.

Goal.com is reporting that PSG and Pochettino are negotiating over a severance package so the French club can announce their new manager.

This report claims that the Argentine manager is demanding significant financial compensation for about €15m and PSG is trying to bring this price down.

Goal says that Pochettino wants the entirety of the fee PSG is obliged to pay him. €3m of €15m is supposed to go to Pochettino’s staff. Among them is his assistant Jesus Perez, goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez, Miguel D'Agostino, and his son, physical coach Sebastian.

Former

Tottenham

manager joined PSG in January 2021 and signed a two-year contract. Pochettino won the Ligue 1 title last season but was knocked out of the competition after losing to Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Zinedine Zidane has been linked with PSG in recent weeks but it appears the former

Real Madrid

manager has rejected their offer and now Nice manager Christophe Galtier is the favorite to replace Pochettino at PSG.
