has been a record breaker at

with their

victory in 2021-22 giving him his 24th trophy with Los Blancos, with the Brazilian still willing to stay at the club.

The 33-year-old, who has been playing for Madrid since 2007, will become a free agent in the summer. The club has not yet offered him a new contract, but he has not ruled anything out. When quizzed about his future, he told El Chiringuito:

“I don’t know what is going to happen.

“I am very content and happy to play in the best team in the world.

“I have just surpassed a legend of Madridismo as Paco Gento is. I am the player with the most titles in the best club in the world and that is priceless.

“If I stay or I don’t stay… I want to stay, so that is made clear.”

During his 15 years with the club, he has contributed to major silverware, starting from his debut season. He has grabbed five domestic crowns after that as well as two Copa del Rey victories.

Marcelo has also helped his side with the Champions League four times, the FIFA Club World Cup four times, and UEFA Super Cups three times. He competed his shining CV with five Supercopa de Espana successes.

This season, he has only played in 17 matches and may not be offered a new deal by president Florentino Perez, notwithstanding being the captain.
