The former FC Sion goalkeeper has many records in his career.

The legendary

Egyptian

El-Hadary announced his retirement from football in 2019 after a short stint at

Nogoom FC

. The 49-year-old, had a brilliant record, winning four Africa Cups with Egypt, including three in a row between 2006 and 2010. At 45, he also broke the record for the oldest player in World Cup history to play against

Saudi Arabia

in the World Cup in Russia. Now he claims to be the best goalkeeper in the history of his country.

“I am one of the very few Egyptian players who have won championships in Europe. I played for Sion for one-and-a-half years and I managed to win the Swiss Cup.

“I am the best goalkeeper in the history of Egypt. The numbers simply prove it and this is not my personal opinion.”

“There is no dispute with El-Shenawy at all, these are just rumours. I love El-Shenawy and I was delighted when I heard him say that I am his idol.”
