Ivory Coast keeper certain they can vanquish Egypt

The Ivory Coast shot-stopper believes his side can beat any opponent if they impose their style of play.

The Pharaohs made their way to the Round of 16 after sitting second in the group stage, having gained six points.

Nigeria

were the leaders of the group with three points in their advantage.

They are going to lock horns with Group E leaders

Ivory Coast

, who ended the group stage with seven points gained in three matches. The match is planned to take place next Wednesday, January 26.

The Elephants will encounter their opponents full of confidence, especially after eliminating champions Algeria in the group stages.

Although goalkeeper

Badra Sangare

insisted that locking horns with

Egypt

is not an easy task, he is certain that his side will win if they focus.

The Egypt match will be difficult. We are trying to prepare strongly, and we have some days until the match. Egypt is a great footballing country and has great players. We respect them and are ready to face them,”

Sangare told Mehwar TV.

A player I fear? I don’t worry about any player or any team. I only think of my team because if we play well, we can beat any player and any team,”

he added.

After a blunder against Sierra Leone in the final minutes of the game, Sangare made headlines, costing his side two points. Although many put the blame on the poor pitch, the goalkeeper took responsibility, saying it was 100% his mistake.

As if that was not enough, Sangare was informed after that game that his mother had passed away.
