Real Madrid to hold an emergency meeting over Covid-19 outbreak

It is possible that Real Madrid upcoming matches will be canceled.

Reports indicate that a large number of Real Madrid players have contracted the coronavirus.

The increase in the number of people infected with the coronavirus in European countries, and especially among football players, has led to a wave of concern in recent days.

It has previously been reported that

Luka Modric

and Marcelo have been tested for Covid-19 and that the two players are currently in quarantine.

However, some sources believes that players infected with the virus are not limited to these two players, and that apparently many more have tested positive in the team's locker room.

Fourteen of the 25 players on Real Madrid's current roster are said to have contracted the virus. Currently, however, only Modric and Marcelo have been confirmed to be infected.

Previously players including Mariano, Kroos, Militao, Casemiro, Hazard, Jovic, Nacho, Valverde, Benzema, Lunin, Alaba and Vallejo had contracted the virus, and Mariano was the first Real player to be tested positive in July 2020.

Thus, there are only 11 players from Real Madrid who have never contracted Covid-19:

Courtois

, Carvajal, Mendi, Lucas Vazquez, Ceballos, Isco, Camavinga, Asensio, Bale, Vinicius and Rodrygo.

It is still unknown at this time that how many players are infected by the virus, but the club is expected to issue an official statement shortly.

The news indicates that the virus is more likely to spread in the team camp. This morning, Real Madrid's training session was postponed for this reason, and all members of the technical staff and players tested for coronavirus. The test results of the Real Madrid members will be announced this evening, and with the arrival of the results, the possibility of canceling the match against Cadiz will be examined.
