Adeyemi not for sale in January, insists Salzburg director

The German striker has attracted interest from a host of top European clubs.

Since making his debut for Die Mannschaft earlier this year, Karim Adeyemi has caught the attention of some of the biggest clubs across Europe. The 19-year-old has continued to deliver impressive performances for Salzburg, scoring 11 goals in 10 league matches for the Austrian side this season.

Rumors around Adeyemi’s potential move away from Salzburg in the upcoming winter transfer window have been intensified in recent weeks. However, Salzburg’s sporting director Christoph Freund says the teenage star won’t leave the club before the next summer.

"Karim will finish the season with us,"

Freund told

Sky Austria. "He should fill the role he has right now for the whole season.

"That is clearly the main focus in Karim's head, and also in ours. I don't know what would have to happen, what scenario would have to occur, for Karim to not finish the season with us.

"He is on the right track and enjoys playing. That fits in well here."

Adeyemi is linked with multiple clubs, with Borussia Dortmund leading the race to sign him in the coming months. Bayern Munich and Liverpool are also closely monitoring the youngster’s situation, but they might struggle to persuade him without a guarantee for sufficient playing time.
