Daniel to follow Maldini’s footsteps at Milan
Daniel Maldini will be in the starting XI for Milan in their battle against Spezia, keeping his family tradition in a Red and Black shirt alive.

to his starting line-up as an attacking midfielder behind Olivier Giroud when
Milanlocks horns with
Spezia.
Since Brahim Diaz is resting and Junior Messias is under treatment, the 19-year-old will have his third appearance in Serie A in the 2021-22 season, and this one marks the first start of his career.
Daniel is Paolo Maldini’s son who was a legend at Milan and Italy and is now the Rossoneri’s Technical Director.
Daniel is a Milan academy product like his father, hoping to follow the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who were Milan legends. He had his senior debut in February 2020 when Milan drew the clash against Hellas Verona.
However, Daniel is a midfielder, whereas Cesare and Paolo were defenders. Cesare made a move to Mian in 1954 and appeared in 412 matches, contributing to four Serie A title wins, one Coppa Italia, one UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup and the first European Cup (now Champions League) ever won by an Italian side.
He then became Italy coach, guiding the national team to the quarter-final of World Cup in 1998. He passed away at the age of 84.
Paolo, on the other hand, established himself as one of the best players in history and he played his entire career with Milan, featuring in 902 matches.
He helped his side win five Champions League, seven Serie A titles, five UEFA Super Cups, and five Italian Super Cups.
He has been serving as Milan’s Technical Director since 2018.
