Daniel James: Man Utd winger to join Leeds on a permanent deal

Daniel James is set to join Leeds United before the end of the summer transfer window with the deal being worth around €28 million, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

James

joined

Manchester United

from

Swansea City

in the summer of 2019 and had an impressive first year at the club, but the 2020/21 campaign was difficult for the 23-year-old as he was rarely utilized by

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

.

With

Cristiano Ronaldo

’s return from

Juventus

, James is likely to see his role being reduced quite a lot, especially with

Jadon Sancho

arriving at Old Trafford as well, while

Marcus Rashford

will soon make his return after an injury layoff. As a result, the 23-year-old decided to leave Old Trafford.

Everton

,

Leeds United

, and

Crystal Palace

were among the suitors to sign James. However, it was Leeds who secured James’ signature.

As per

Fabrizio Romano

, Leeds have now reached an agreement to sign James from Manchester United in a €28 million deal.

The Welsh international also agreed personal terms with the Whites, with his medical being scheduled for Tuesday when the transfer ought to be announced.
