Roma announce the signing of Vina from Palmeiras
The young left-back joins the Giallorossi on a five-year deal.
Roma finalized the signing of Matias Vina on Sunday. The Palmeiras left-back joins the Giallorossi on a €13m deal plus bonuses, which will expire in June 2026.
The player had already agreed to personal terms with the Italian side earlier this month. However, the official announcement was delayed due to the two clubs’ disagreement over payment schedules.
“I am pleased to be wanted by a prestigious club like Roma,”
the 23-year-old said after signing his contract at Roma.
“I have dreamed of playing in Europe since I was a child, and to be able to achieve that goal while playing in a Roma shirt is something that makes me very proud.
“I can’t wait to join up with the coach and my new teammates, and then to run out onto the pitch in front of our fans.”
Vina won the Copa Libertadores with Palmeiras in 2020 as he featured in 12 matches for the Brazilian club. The Uruguay international is expected to replace
Leonardo Spinazzola, who is sidelined with a torn Achilles tendon.
