Inter’s plan for Nahitan Nandez fell through

Although Inter have mapped out a strategy for signing Nahitan Nandez on loan, their strategy fell through as Cagliari decided to no longer discuss a loan with an option to buy and only demand the full €36 million release clause.

Nahitan Nandez

had been a target for

Inter

for a long time and the Nerazzurri had a strategy to enact an exchange with

Radja Nainggolan

going to Sardinia permanently.

However, according to L’Unione Sarda newspaper,

Cagliari

no longer accept transferring the Uruguay International on loan and demand the full €36 million release clause.

Now that Cagliari have decided to not discuss a loan with an option to buy, it seems Inter’s strategy has fallen through.

Part of it is because Nainggolan is now in talks with Besiktas which means Cagliari no longer need to give Inter special treatment for Nandez.

Marko Rog’s injury could be the other reason as it leaves Cagliari with limited midfield options.

Nandez also has been linked with Leeds United for months but they are also not going to pay the €36 million fee.
