Adidas speaking with Juventus regarding the racial post
Adidas, the Bianconeri’s kit supplier, is ‘speaking to the club’ about the tweet they posted that read as racially discriminatory content on Juventus Women team’s account.
The tweet was posted on Thursday and was not deleted until after 20 minutes. There have been thousands of negative replies.
In the picture,
Cecilia Salvai
, a women’s team defender, has a small red cone put on her head, which was like a hat. The discriminatory part is that she is holding her eyes with her fingers to seem Chinese.
About 8,000 people reacted to the post in 20 minutes and
Juventushad to apologize after deleting it.
Their first apology was posted on their Twitter and on Friday, they have released a statement on their official website.
However, the Serie A side should now deal with Adidas as the picture was taken in their Barcelona training retreat with Salvai wearing an Adidas shirt.
“
Adidas condemns racism whether intentional or otherwise, there is no place in sport and society we are speaking with the club on addressing the matter,”
a spokesperson told
Sky Sports UK
