Atalanta’s contract with Demiral sets Romero free to join Tottenham

Atalanta are on the verge of completing the Juventus defender’s loan deal that includes an option to buy for €27.5m, letting Cristian Romero leave for Tottenham on a fee of €55m.

’s services on a loan deal from

Juventus

as the defender was not at the Bianconeri’s training session today. The 23-year-old was getting ready to undergo his medical with Atalanta.

La Dea are going to pay €2.5m for the loan deal of the 2021-22 season and it includes an option to purchase at €25m.

The Argentina international will have his tests tomorrow and when they pen a contract, Atalanta are going to let

Cristian Romero

undergo his medical with

Tottenham

, signing a contract worth €55m including bonuses, which is a huge profit.

Romero joined Atalanta on a two-year loan deal from the Serie A side in 2020 and the deal had an option to buy for €18.5m.

Juventus paid €18m to sign with Turkey international Demiral in 2019 from Sassuolo; however, his torn anterior cruciate ligament in 2020 had a bad effect on his career in Turin.
