Arsenal made first steps for Maddison

The English star is of interest to the players, but the demand requested by Leicester is the main obstacle to the transfer.

English media have claimed that Arsenal have made an initial offer for Leicester City to sign James Maddison.

It has previously been reported that Mikel Arteta is a Maddison fan and will be monitoring him for the summer. Martin Odegaard returned to Real Madrid in the summer and Arsenal needed to sign a midfielder this summer. Sources close to Maddison claim that the 24-year-old midfielder is at the top of Arsenal's list for summer transfers. However, Arsenal's main problem was Leicester City' 60million demand for the former Norwich midfielder.

However, it is rumored that Arsenal will persuade Leicester to finalize the transfer by offering one of their players as part of Maddison's transfer fee. Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are among the players Arsenal are ready to sell, although it has not yet been confirmed which of them will make the move to Leicester.
