West Ham closes on Braithwaite with a €15m bid
With the addition of Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay to Barcelona’s front line, Martin Braithwaite could see his playtime further reduced having only started 11 La Liga outings last season.
Considering the
Denmark
international’s performance at Euro 2020, it would be the perfect time for
Barca
to sell, especially given the club’s financial situation and uncertainty of the 30-year-old’s future at Nou Camp.
Now according to
Sport,
Braithwaite
is on the verge of completing a permanent move to the Premier League side, West Ham.
The outlet reports although the deal isn’t completely done yet, a bid of €15m has been accepted by the Blaugrana and now the Hammers have to agree on a deal with the player to bring him to London.
The 30-year-old forward is reportedly not happy with
West Ham
’s offered salary. However, it’s also thought that the two sides aren’t too far away and a compromise is expected.
Joining Barcelona from CD Leganes in a deal worth €18 million, Braithwaite has four years remaining on his current deal with Barcelona.
On the other side,
David Moyes
urgently needs to add some firepower to his team next season and although the Danish forward is unlikely to become a prolific striker, his general game should occupy defenses and make the Hammers a more dangerous team in attack.
, they completed a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Alphonse Areola on loan.
