Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini to have Tottenham medical on Thursday
Pierluigi Gollini has been linked with a move away from Atalanta in recent weeks. The Italy international has attracted interest from several European clubs.
According to
Sky Sports, the 26-year-old goalkeeper’s move to
Tottenham
is essentially done as
Gollini
is expected to fly out to London ahead of medical tests. The shot-stopper is having some tests in Italy first, the results of which will then be passed on to the Spurs staff.
, the Italian will join the Spurs on loan with a clause making the move permanent if Gollini makes at least 20 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham during the season.
Tottenham
commit to the purchase at a total cost of €15m once he reaches that 20th game in the Spurs jersey, with a contract ready with the Premier League side until June 2026.
Gollini
had to share his gloves with Marco Sportiello last season but still managed to appear in 32 games for the Bergamo side. Having played for Manchester United’s youth team and Aston Villa, the Italian goalkeeper is no stranger to English football. Gollini’s current deal at Atalanta runs until June 2023. The signing of Juan Musso from Udinese might further push Gollini toward a move away from Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to London, where he has to compete with Hugo Lloris, who is on the final year of his contract with Tottenham Hotspur.
