€400m injection and Formula one director to help Juve’s struggles

Dealing with the estimated €320m cost of the pandemic, Juventus have sanctioned a €400m financial injection and brought in a former Formula One chief to help them in their financial struggle that has been caused due to pandemic.

Coronavirus pandemic affected the football world in a lot of ways, and one of them of course, was financial.

Like many other clubs across the world, Juve have seen their broadcasting, merchandising, and ticket revenues hit by the closure of stadiums due to COVID-19. They estimated a €320m financial loss in total between 2019 and 2022.

Hence, a support plan has been sanctioned by

Bianconeri’s

board to help ensure "sports competitiveness and economic-financial sustainability" are maintained.

In addition to the sanctioned plan,

the club announced that

Maurizio Arrivabene

, former team principal of Formula One's Ferrari, will take charge of football business operations.

For the first time in a decade,

Juventus

lost on Serie A title with Inter ending their wait to clinch the Scudetto. The Turin-based club appointed their former boss,

Massimiliano Allegri

, as their new head coach to replace Andrea Pirlo at the dugout.

One of the first actions of the Italian boss was renewing their backup goalkeeper’s contract,

Carlo Pinsoglio

Although the 31-year-old has only made one appearance for Juve, the goalkeeper is a close friend of their star forward,

Cristiano Ronaldo

. He explained in a recent interview: "I have a beautiful friendship with him, my team-mates make fun of me saying that I'll go to the Euros with the Portugal staff and Cristiano.

"Ronaldo is a simple guy, not a star, he's quiet, he likes to laugh and joke."
