We were really focused and professional - Roberto Martinez

Belgium beat Finland in their last Euro 2020 group stage match last night to advance to the knockout stage with 9 points.

believes his men are ready to take the next step towards Euro 2020 glory.

An unfortunate own goal on a mistake made by Finnish goalkeeper Lukáš Hrádecký, and a late goal by Romelu Lukaku gave Belgium a 2-0 victory over

Finland

and secured the Red Devils' advancement to the round of 16 of the tournament.

At a post-match press conference, Belgium manager Roberto Martinez told

:

“This team has been very consistent over the last five years. It’s now about getting every individual at their very best.

“We were really focused and professional. We defended very well and waited for the first goal. We knew that would open everything up. We were almost there in the first half but we adapted to a difficult team.”

The Red Devils’ boss, who was particularly pleased with

Eden Hazard

’s performance after dealing with a series of injuries, added:

“He pushed himself, got into good positions. He looks free, twisting right and left.

“The next step is now to see Eden with that final pass, that shot that finishes in the back of the net. I was delighted with his performance.”
