Oblak admits Atletico exit ‘will depend on a lot of factors’

Being strongly linked with a move to Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United, the 28-year-old goalkeeper has discussed his future as he concedes that a move away from Atletico may happen at some stage.

The Slovenian goalkeeper joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in 2014, and after achieving two league titles with the Rojiblancos, he has established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

With his current contract with the club running through to the summer of 2023, his contract also includes a €120 million release clause that is very unlikely to be activated due to the current pandemic-affected financial situation in the football world.

The Slovenia international has told

Marca

: "I can't see the future, neither myself nor the club nor anyone can.

"It will depend on a lot of factors, such as if the club needs to sell any players or not."

On his career with Atletico, Oblak continued: "I have nothing to say about my future, I have been at Atleti seven years and I have two years left on my contract.

"I have played more than 300 games here and, while I enjoy having won La Liga Santander, I'm not thinking about anything else.

"I'm here, I'm happy. We'll see what the future brings."
