Sergio Ramos is still insisting on the two-year contract renewal

Sergio Ramos' agreement with Real Madrid remains just two months out.

Despite both parties' reported ambitions to end the drama in March and then April,

Marca

claims that little has changed since January. This hasn't happened, and both sides are close to putting an end to Ramos' time at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ramos is seeking a two-year contract, believing that his contributions to the club merit such a package. For the Andalusian, who is reportedly sidelined due to injury, money is a secondary issue.

Eder Militao

has stepped up in his absence to provide truly outstanding results, while

David Alaba

's impending arrival offers Los Blancos more choice at center-back position.

Both

Raphael Varane

and

Nacho

have deals that will expire in 2022, and they are in the process of either renewing them or accepting offers from clubs outside of Madrid. Varane should be sold because of his obvious lack of desire to remain at the

La Liga

side, although Nacho has no doubts. Other clubs have shown interest in him, but Madrid is and will still be his first goal.
