"Inter suffered together" - Handanovic

Inter shot-stopper, Samir Handanovic revealed that the match against Atalanta was a "tough game" and was pleased to have guaranteed an "important win" on Monday night.

Inter was under pressure by Gian Piero Gasperini’s players at San Siro but then Milan Skriniar scored the opener in the 54th minute.

“We expected a difficult match because Atalanta are an excellent team,”

Handanovic

announced to

Sky Sport Italia

.

“They are showing it both in Italy and in Europe, they are not easy to play against. I think it was a game where we suffered a bit, but we still win this way.”

The expert goalkeeper revealed it was hard "physically and tactically", but he was happy the team could earn a clean sheet and three points.

“The details decide these games,”

he said.

“They were dangerous in the first half but we were good and lucky not to concede and then we did it.

“It was a tough game, physically and tactically. The important thing is to always win because all of the matches are worth three points.

“This was an important win for the championship. The other teams will also play against Atalanta, who are not an easy opponent.”

“Everything starts from daily training in the sense that we have full weeks to prepare for the matches,”

Handanovic

added.

“Leaving Europe was a big disappointment and is an open wound, but on the other hand, it gave us the possibility to regroup and train better. The results can be seen.”

Inter stand six points ahead at the top of Serie A and have a huge advantage in the Scudetto battle.

“We have to play as we have done so far,”

 Handanovic continued.

“When you have to play and dribble, you have to do it together and we need to suffer together when that’s required."
